No. Driving Green sits on top of your existing supplier (Electric Ireland, Energia, SSE Airtricity, Bord Gáis, Pinergy, etc.). We're software — we don't send you a bill for electricity.
Enrolment is free. We earn a share of the grid-services payments your devices generate — when we flex your load for EirGrid, balance the market, or export your battery. You keep the bulk of the savings on your own bill. Before you earn anything, we show you what split applies.
Yes. The logic runs in the cloud, not in the wires. As long as your device has an internet connection and a supported API (Tesla, Huawei, SolarEdge, Enphase, GivEnergy, Daikin, Mitsubishi, and more coming), you can enrol from anywhere in Ireland.
Smart charging (Tesla) is live on waitlist from early access. Battery and heat pump VPP rollout is sequenced by device mix and supplier partnerships — taking the Energy Score places you in the first cohort for your area.
Yes. We're GDPR-compliant and never sell data. We only access the device APIs needed to operate your flexibility — not your in-home smart-meter history, not your bills. You can delete your account and data on request any time.

No. Driving Green helps today whether you're on flat-rate, Day/Night or a smart tariff. As Ireland's pricing shifts to half-hourly, homes already on Driving Green capture even more savings automatically.
